F1 Ngidi/Beta (orange) [Ngidi Pink Champagne/Ngidi Beta cross] X Golden Dusk®

APPLEBLOSSOM COMPLEX
The Appleblossom complex is a Clivia miniata strain of 8 plants, habitat collected by the National Botanic Institute, Kirstenbosch. All have unique colouration of pale yellow suffused with pink of varying intensities, reminiscent of apple blossoms. They were code named Q1 to Q8, Q2 being specifically called Appleblossom. I have flowered a number of Q-crosses, but to date none have produced the pink tones achieved by others. But I live in hope and have selfed and sibling crossed in the hope of reproducing the original colouration in the next generation. (see article in Clivia News Vol.19 No.3 page 7-10)

OTHER APPLEBLOSSOM COMPLEX CROSSES
Here the Appleblossom strain has been crossed with outstanding peaches and pastels. The F1 cross has resulted in lovely blooms of various shades of orange, with broad tepalled, open florets. By sibling crossing these we expect some lovely flowers, 25% of which should revert to the Appleblossom and 25% to the peaches and pastels, but with an Appleblossom influence.
